Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old. You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for what happens under it. Please give accurate information so your readings are correct.

What the readings are, and aren't

Our readings draw on astrology, numerology, the Maya calendar and name numerology. They are offered for reflection, self-discovery and entertainment. The calculations follow documented methods, but the interpretations are symbolic, not scientifically proven predictions. Nothing on the site, from the Companion, the avatar or a practitioner, is medical, psychological, legal, financial or other professional advice. Please don't rely on a reading to make important decisions, and always speak to a qualified professional about health, money or legal matters. You remain the decision-maker in your own life.

The Companion and the avatar

The voice Companion and talking avatar are AI. They can make mistakes, misunderstand you, or say things that aren't accurate. They are not a person, a therapist or a crisis service. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact local emergency services or a crisis line right away.

Practitioners

Practitioners listed on the site are independent and are not our employees or agents. We review applications, but we don't guarantee any practitioner's advice, skill or results. Star-match scores are a light-hearted guide, not a promise of fit. Your session is between you and the practitioner; please treat each other with respect.

If you're a practitioner, you're responsible for the services you offer, for describing them honestly, for keeping your availability accurate, for showing up to booked sessions, and for any taxes on your earnings. Payouts are made through Stripe, after our platform fee, under the practitioner terms shown when you join.

Payments, minutes and refunds

• Prices are shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe.
• Companion minutes are used up by voice and avatar conversations. Short accidental calls aren't charged. Minutes have no cash value and can't be transferred.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period.
• Practitioner sessions: if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start, you get a full refund. If you cancel later than that, the practitioner is still paid. If the practitioner cancels or doesn't show up, you get a full refund. For other problems, email support@themayacode.com and we'll look at it fairly. Nothing here limits any refund rights you have under the law.

Using the site fairly

Please don't:

• break the law, harass anyone, or post anything abusive, hateful or misleading;
• enter another person's details in a way they wouldn't welcome;
• try to break, overload, scrape or get unauthorized access to the site;
• copy or resell our readings, text or software;
• arrange to pay a practitioner you met here outside the site to avoid our fees.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Our content

The site, its design, software and reading text belong to Houtzager Holdings or our licensors. You may use your readings for your own personal purposes, including sharing them with friends. Anything you post, like reviews, stays yours, but you let us display it on the site.

Privacy

How we handle your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

The service is provided "as is"

We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We may change, pause or stop features at any time.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, Houtzager Holdings isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on a reading, the Companion, the avatar or a practitioner. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Closing your account

You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing support@themayacode.com. We may close accounts that break these terms. Unused minutes on a closed account are not refundable unless the law requires it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make meaningful changes we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you. Continuing to use the site after changes means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where Houtzager Holdings is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
